Madurai, June 18 (PTI) Two Railway Protection Force personnel were arrested by CBI for allegedly stealing official documents and issuing fake appointment letters to some local youths aspiring for jobs in the force, officials said. 56-year-old Joison, a RPF inspector, and 43-year-old Baskaran, a constable, were arrested yesterday. They were remanded to judicial custody by special CBI court judge M P Jegannathan. Their bail applications have been posted for hearing on June 22, the officials said. CBI had received complaints from a few locals that some brokers, having links with RPF men, had collected money from them and had issued fake appointment letters, they said. After initial inquiry, CBI arrested three persons who issued some fake appointment orders. During their interrogation, the trio told CBI that Joison and Baskaran were also involved in the racket and that they had stolen some forms and other documents from the RPF office.
