New Delhi, May 11 -- A 48-year-old chartered accountant was shot dead and his son wounded by two motorcycle-borne men in a crowded Kanhaiyya Nagar market (north Delhi) around 11 a.m. on Monday. The duo had just withdrawn money from an ATM. An hour later, an employee of a gas agency was robbed at a busy Sector 9 traffic intersection in Dwarka. An average of two cases involving biker gangs are reported every day in the Capital. In Monday's first incident, Krishna Kumar Bansal was shot at point blank range and his son shot in the arm. "The two men attacked them and demanded they hand over the bag. Bansal resisted and they shot him in the stomach," said eyewitness Suresh Jindal. "One of the accused, Anil Kumar (28), was arrested. He does not have a criminal record," said N.S. Bundela, deputy commissioner of police (northwest). The other accused fled, leaving behind a motorcycle with 'police' inscribed on it, a "sophisticated weapon" and the bag.
