London, June 16 (ANI): A British traffic cop has been put behind the bars for demanding sex from women drivers in exchange for letting them off driving offences.Predatory PC Jamie Slater, 33, a married dad-of-two, stopped six women, took their mobile phone numbers and then texted them asking for sex, and he used the police national computer to gather details about them. One of his victims, a married woman, agreed to his demands and romped with him in the back of his police car on several occasions, and at one time was forced to hide in the vehicle when he was suddenly sent on an emergency chase.Justice David Lloyd Jones sentenced Slater to three-and-a-half years in jail."You persistently abused your office in a particularly predatory manner," the Sun quoted him as telling the disgraced cop."These offences were deeply distressing to your victims, all of whom were vulnerable. They felt powerless," he said.Slater, of Port Talbot, South Wales, admitted eight charges of misconduct in public office relating to eight different women."Slater stopped one married woman who was driving alone with only a provisional licence," prosecutor Peter Davies told Cardiff Crown Court."He told her if she gave him her mobile number he would not cause the car to be retained and she agreed to do so," Davies revealed.Slater later texted the woman and they met for sex on an industrial park off the M4 motorway."This occurred on three other occasions when he was on duty. On one occasion Slater was called out and involved in a high-speed chase while the woman was hiding in the vehicle," Davies said."He also ran checks on the woman's husband during their relationship - then sent him taunting text messages. One of them said: 'I'm f***ing your wife'," he stated. He started a second relationship with a woman when he was called to an incident at her home, but the fling ended when she confronted Slater's wife about what had been going on.The court heard the sex with both women was consensual, and that his reign only ended when one woman reported him to senior officers."He is full of remorse and he was a good police officer. It was his long-standing ambition to be a police officer and the fulfilment of a dream," defending, Tom Crowther said.Slater was sacked from South Wales police in December after eight years service, which included three commendations.Tom Davies, the Independent Police Complaints Commissioner for Wales, added: "Slater was a disgrace to all who work for the police service and abused the position of trust a serving police officer is given."
