Nanded, May 15 (PTI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan today said an inquiry would be initiated into allegations against Minister of state for home Ramesh Bagwe. A number of media reports have alleged that Bagwe was facing 19 criminal cases, which led to Pune commissioner of police holding his passport for renewal. Replying to a question in this connection, Chavan told reporters at the airport here that an inquiry would be initiated in the charges levelled against the minister. He also appealed the police officers not to bow to any pressure and work with transparency. To a query about rift between Tata and Reliance over power supply to Mumbai, he said the government would take all measures to see that Mumbai gets sufficient power. When asked about the removing of encroachment at Mankhurd, which was strongly opposed by social activist Medha Patkar, Chavan said if Mumbai is to be developed, encroachment on government land should necessarily be removed.
