Ranchi, May 4 (PTI) Opposition Congress today criticised Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren for chairing a cabinet meeting saying it was "unethical" with the BJP yet to rule out withdrawing support from his government and also flayed the saffron party for putting its decision to pull out on hold. "It is unethical on the part of Shibu Soren to chair a cabinet meeting and make inspections of road work yesterday," Jharkhand PCC President Pradeep Kumar Balmachu told PTI on phone. Stating that his party was still watching developments, he criticised Soren for chairing the meeting when the saffron party had not yet ruled out withdrawing support following his voting for the UPA in cut motions on April 27. Criticising the BJP also for contributing to political uncertainty in the state by putting its decision to withdraw on hold Balmachu said, "We met Ahmed Patel in Delhi and were told to wait and watch. What can we do unless the two parties clear the political uncertainty in Jharkhand after the BJP''s Parliamentry Board''s decision?" Speaking about Soren, who is an MP and not a member of the House having till June 30 to enter the assembly, Balmachu said, "In that case too Soren should not occupy the chair." Meanwhile, a very senior BJP leader when asked whether the decision to pull out was taken in haste as reflected in the party''s state unit''s reluctance to hand over a formal withdrawl of support letter to the Governor, replied, "Not not at all." The BJP leader said that the decision was put on hold at the request of Soren''s son Hemant "so that JMM could come up with a firm commitment." "JMM has been told to come up with a concrete commitment at the earliest by getting a letter of support of all the 18 MLAs of the JMM," he said. RJD''s Jharkhand unit spokesman Manohar Yadav also criticised the BJP as four of its ministers had attended the cabinet meeting yesterday when a final decision by its Parliamentary Board on the fate of the Soren''s government was still pending. Meanwhile, Soren will meet party MLAs this evening, party sources said.
