Congress to file criminal case against Badal

News posted by www.newsinfoline.com

Ludhiana, May 8 (PTI) Punjab unit of Congress would file a criminal case against Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in connection with the disqualification of his predecessor Amarinder Singh from the state assembly in the case of alleged irregularities in Amritsar Improvement Trust land. Membership of Amarinder Singh to the state assembly was recently restored by the Supreme Court which set aside the decision of the house about two years back. Amarinder''s son Raninder, who is also General Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), told reporters here today that the criminal case would be filed against Badal for violating the Constitution and conspiracy (in getting Amarinder Singh disqualified from the house). Legal experts had been approached for their opinion in this matter, he said. A deputation of the senior congress leaders would also meet Governor of Punjab on this vital issue as the SAD-BJP government had made a "mockery" of the entire democratic system, he added. A final shape would be given to the entire thing in next few days on the return of Amarinder Singh from abroad, Raninder added.
