Chandigarh, May 10 (PTI) Four officials of the Forest Department, including the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Rohtak, were today suspended in connection with the killing of four deer by stray dogs at the Deer Park at Meham about 30 kms from Rohtak last week. Forest Minister Ajay Yadav has also ordered a probe by a two member committing comprising Conservator of Forests, Hissar Vijay Kumar Jhajhria and Wildlife Officer, Hissar Shakti Singh, an official spokesman said. While 10 deer had lost their lives at the hands of stray dogs which entered the Deer Park on April 30, the latest incident took place on May 7. The spokesman said that after the first incident a senior forest department officer had visited the Deer Park and directed that the remaining deer be shifted to the zoo at Rohtak, but the concerned officials failed to take any action. The minister noted that the deaths of deer had taken place due to "sheer negligence of the staff," the spokesman added. PTI AKA.
