Hyderabad, May 10 (PTI) The Srikrishna committee, which is looking into the Telangana issue, has been flooded with representations from various sections of the society, a member of the panel said today. "We have received over 1.15 lakh representations. It is not possible to meet all the people. But we will like to meet a cross-section of the people to obtain their views on the subject," V K Duggal, the committee''s member-secretary, told reporters here. The important thing is that the entire cross-section of Andhra society must be heard. Before we finish our consultations, a broad spectrum, cross-section of views must be obtained by the committee, he added. The committee members are on a three-day visit to the city starting today for consultations with political parties. Besides, the committee would like to meet all other groups and stakeholders who have sought an audience, he said. Replying to a query, Srikrishna, chairman of the panel, said the work of the committee is going on smoothly and it will be over before December 31, 2010. Asked about the reported comment of senior TDP leader M V Mysoora Reddy that the committee comprised retired persons, he said, "People will say hundreds of things. We don''t have to respond to that. Otherwise, we will also become politicians". He, however, added that three of the five members of the committee are in active service.
