India's bronze winner at the Beijing Olympics, Sushil Kumar, will be one of the star attractions during the Asian Wrestling Championships to be held from May 12 to 16 at the new wrestling stadium in IG Sports Complex. The event will have around 350 participants from 21 countries, including Beijing Games medallists Yusup Abdusalomov from Tajikistan and Kazakhstan's Mutalimov Madrid.Indian Weightlifting Federation president G S Mander said on Saturday that Indian grapplers had a good chance of winning more medals than at the last edition. India had won two silvers the last time — both in Greco-Roman — and four bronze medals, including one by Alka Tomar.Mander said this championship would be a test for the Indian participants ahead of the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games. "All the Asian nations are sending their top wrestlers — while we are eying both Commonwealth Games and the Asiad, most others would focus on the latter," Mander said.Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, China and Mongolia are among the nations that have confirmed entries.
