New Delhi, May 4 (PTI) A 40-year-old man was electrocuted in west Delhi early this morning when he attempted to switch on a booster pump of Delhi Jal Board, police said. The incident was reported from Baljeet Nagar at around 6 am and the victim has been identified as Shyam Sunder Pandey, a pan vendor. The mishap occurred when he switched on an electric booster pump connected to an underground water storage tank and got electrocuted. Pandey was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital where he was declared brought dead. According to police, the DJB employed a man to switch on the pump but he allegedly "outsourced" his job to Pandey. Police said they were investigating whose negligence led to Pandey''s death. His body has been sent for post mortem. PTI SJY.
