Philippine senator Benigno Aquino III had 40.2 percent of votes counted in the contest for the presidency, the Commission on Elections said in a update on Tuesday that was close to results released on Monday night.The commission did not say how much of the vote had been counted for the updated figures.Former president Joseph Estrada was in second place with 25.5 percent of votes.On Monday night, the commission said with 57 percent of the vote counted, Aquino had 40.6 percent of the vote and Estrada was in second place with 25.7 percent.
