Delhi scores 89.04 pc in Class X New Delhi, May 28 (PTI) Delhi region registered 89.04 per cent success in the CBSE Class X board result, which was declared today, with girls once again outshining boys in the pass percentage. Though, marginally lower than the national average of 89.28 per cent, Delhi registered a slender increase of 1.34 per cent from Last year. With an 1.80 per cent rise, 90.05 per cent of the girls who had appeared were declared successful, while 88.15 per cent of boys fared satisfactorily this year -- a marginal increase of 0.94 per cent. A total of 2,51,644 students appeared in the Delhi region and out then 2,24,065 were successful. Compared to last year 10,254 more boys and 8,769 more girls took the Class X examinations. Meanwhile, Central government schools once again emerged as toppers in the list with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas on the top position accounting for 97.92 per cent of successful candidates, though it declined from last year''s 100 per cent result. It was followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas with 96.54 per cent and independent institutions with 92.85 per cent of passed students. State government schools scored 90.96 this year. With the concept of not failing any student in the grading system, 27,547 students will have to appear for the improvement of performance test against last year''s 24,383 compartmental candidates -- a percentage rise of 0.47.
