 Texmaco Ltd, a KK Birla Group company, has posted a net profit of Rs 27.60 crore for the quarter to March 31, 2010 against Rs 17.42 crore for the corresponding period the previous fiscal. Net sales of the the company during the period has increased to 267.36 crore from 238.28 crore for the corresponding period the previous fiscal.Net profit of the company during 2009-10 has increased to Rs 93.04 crore from Rs 75.83 crore for 2008-09, registering almost 23% rise. Turnover during the period has has increased marginally by 3% to Rs 1,125 crore against Rs 1,091.25 crore for the previous fiscal.In a press statement the company said that its rolling stock division has produced 4,110 wagons in 2009-10. It is also expecting further orders from the Indian Railways. Texmaco, which is looking at product diversification has also manufactured car body shells for WAG-( electric locomotives for Chittaranjan Locomotive Works.It is also in advanced negotiation with the United Group Rail of Australia to supply wagons, bogies and locomotive components. Earlier, Texmaco signed technology transfer agreement with United Group rail for special design double deck container flat wagon.
