With `fresh look` call, BJP makes Valley appearance

News posted by www.newsinfoline.com

Four years after it set up its Valley office in the separatist enclave of Rajbagh, the BJP has made its first appearance here and acknowledged the need to have a "fresh look" on Kashmir's ground situation. Reiterating the words of ex-PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the party has called for a "humane approach" to the problem."We trust the best of the solutions to all issues can be found through the path of insaniyat and not through bullets," BJP's national spokes-person Tarun Vijay told The Indian Express on Tuesday. "We are having a fresh look at Kashmir. There has to be a paradigm shift in our analysis of Kashmir's ground situation. The situation has changed for better and why not to recognise it," he added.Vijay is in the Valley and this time making the right sounds for the people here.He acknowledged that the Valley's youth are angry. "It is the time for a new Kashmir led by the youth," he said. "We must lend an ear and guide them. Their anger should be channelised into employment avenues," he said. "I would like to salute the Kashmiri mothers who painstakingly tried and succeeded to a great extent in keeping away their children from terrorism," he added.Vijay also praised the people of Kashmir for standing for Hindu-Muslim unity. "A number of incidents have been noticed where local Muslims have courageously stood with their Hindu brethren and helped them. A large number of them want Hindus back here... It's a welcome sign," he said.
