Underprivileged students of Punjab to get free IIT coaching

The Bhai Jaitajee Foundation (BJF), headquartered in Delaware, USA, today announced a partnership with the Ramanujan School of Mathematics in Patna to support eligible underprivileged children of Punjab with regard to their studies. A residential program in Patna, the school will provide free tuition, board and lodging to students chosen by means of rigorous screening tests.This was stated by Harpal Singh, Chairman, Ramanujan School of Mathematics, who was in the city today. He said, "We will select 90 students from Punjab. We have been helping poor but brilliant children from Bihar villages to enter IIT's."The entrance test will be held on June 5 at the Modern Senior Secondary School, Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Road, Patiala. Students studying in Class XI or XII (non-medical) or passed XII (non-medical) in 2009 or appeared in 2010 will be eligible to take the test. Admission forms are available at ACS Computer Institute, 21-22, Sanchita Complex, Sector 31-A, Chandigarh or can be downloaded from www.super30.org The last date for applications is May 25. There is no application fee for SC/ST candidates and for others it is Rs 100. The fees has to be paid by DD payable at Patna in favour of 'Ramanujan School of Mathematics'.
